​About the PHA

The kingdom’s Vision 2030 has promoted public health and focused on providing healthcare services for all, as one of its objectives (Vibrant Society) stated, “The happiness and ​fulfillment of citizens and residents are important to us. This can only be achieved through promoting physical, psychological and social well-being. At the heart of our Vision is a society where all enjoy a good quality of life, a healthy lifestyle, and an attractive living environment”.

In this light, the Saudi Center for Disease Prevention and Control was changed to be the Public Health Authority in 2021 by a ministerial resolution, to fulfil the vision’ objectives. The authority works to protect and improve the population’s public health in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 and the national transformation of public health. The authority will focus on improving health and disease prevention, artificial intelligence in the field of public health, health security, laboratories science, workforce planning, improving education, providing public health laboratory services and accreditations, publishing scientific reports, and developing strategies and plans​
